Any male and female who wish to be married to each other, can apply for a marriage license in the Town Clerk’s office. The applicant must be 18 years or older. An appointment should be made and each applicant must bring a certified copy of their birth certificate, if not in English, a certifed translation with it, a driver’s license or government picture identification and their Social Security number. If there were any prior marriages, a certified document should show that the marriage no longer exists, such as divorce papers, state annulment
papers or death certificates. One document must be supplied for each prior marriage. The marriage license is valid 24 hours after issuance, but must be used within two months. There is a $40.00 fee. Credit cards and out of state checks are not accepted.
