Seasonal Highway Department Schedule
SPRING
· Cleaning gutters, swails and catch basins
· Street sweeping
· Repairing/restoring: curbs, lawns and driveway aprons due to snowplow damage
· Repainting pavement markings
SUMMER
· Blacktop repair and road resurfacing
· Drainage improvements
· Roadside mowing
FALL
· Crack filling
· Cleaning our drainage outfalls: gutters, catch basins and swails (leaves on private property are not picked up by the Highway Department—see Leaf Program through the Town’s Refuse Carter (AWS))
· Hauling winter supply materials
· Dirt road maintenance
· Pot hole repair
WINTER
· Removal of dead/dying trees in right of ways
· Clearing dead/dying limbs overhanging roads
· Plowing/sanding
