The Town of Southeast Planning Board office accepts and processes land use applications as follows:
• subdivision of land, both residential and commercial.
• applications for construction, renovation or changes in the use of commercial structures.
In addition, by appointment only, the Planning Department will meet with applicants to assist them with the planning process for future use of a parcel of land, or to discuss where they may wish to locate their business within the Town of Southeast. The Planning Board office also reviews the Zoning regulations with applicants and walks them through the planning review process.
Planning Board meetings are generally held twice monthly, on the second and fourth Monday of the month. The meetings are open to the public and are held at Town Hall, 1360 Route 22, in the Court room. Planning Board members are your neighbors. The Board welcomes and encourages public attendance at meetings and active participation whenever there is a public hearing on a particular project. It is an excellent way for residents of the Town to see how the Planning process works and to understand how their Town is being developed. Attendance at meetings gives residents the opportunity to participate in that development process and help plan for the future of the Town.
Planning Board agendas are posted on the Town Hall bulletin board, generally by the Wednesday preceding the meeting. Please confirm dates with the Planning department, or check with Town Hall. Agenda is subject to change.
