The Zoning Board of Appeals, established by the Town Board, consists of seven members serving five year terms. It is the responsibility of the Zoning Board of Appeals to hear and decide appeals and interpretations of the Town of Southeast Zoning Code. Applicants who seek either a variance or an interpretation of the Code are referred to the Zoning Board of Appeals by the Planning Department, Building Department, or the Code Enforcement Officer.
Residents can obtain an application from the Town Clerk. Should an applicant or any other interested parties require further information, they should contact the secretary of the Zoning Board of Appeals, Linda Stec at 278-6194.
A concurrent vote of four members of the Board is necessary to decide in favor of an applicant. All Zoning Board of Appeals meetings are open to the public and are held on the third Monday of the month, at 1360 Route 22, in the Court room on the left when entering the building, at 8:00pm. Work sessions are held 7:30-8:00pm.
