The Town of Southeast, NY, which was founded in 1788, is located at the crossroads of Interstate highways Route 684 and Route 84, and State Routes 22, 312, 6 and 202. Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line has two stops that service the area at Brewster Village and Southeast Station off Route 312. The Town's population of 17,316 makes it the second largest town in Putnam County, NY.
Southeast Town Hall is located at 1360 Route 22, North of the I684/I84 interchange. The Town Supervisor's office, Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Tax Assessor's offices and Town Court are located here.
The Building Department, Planning Department, Code Enforcement, and Parking Offices are located at 1 Main Street, in the Village of Brewster, just across from the train station.
The Highway Department can be found on Palmer Road off Route 22, and Recreation Department offices are situated at the 140 Pumphouse Road, Brewster, NY 10509.
