County and Town Tax Collections

1. This office collects current County and Town Taxes for the Town of Southeast.

2. Bills are mailed out during the first week of January and cover January 1st through December 31st of the same calendar year.

3. The Full Amount of the bill is due and payable without penalty by January 31st , February and March are computed from variable interest rate.

4. If you choose the two payment plan, the first half is due by January 31st and the second half is due by July 31st. However, for each month after January you must add a 1% Interest Charge on the unpaid balance. For example, if the second half payment is $100.00 and you pay it in March, the service charge would be $2.00, so the correct payment would be $102.00. If you wait until July to pay the second half in July, the service charge would be 6% ($6.00), making the total payment $106.00. There is also a $2.00 second notice reminder fee.

5. All payments may be mailed to the Town Hall at the following address:

6. Payments may also be made in person at the Town Hall. The office hours are 9:00-4:30pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays

7. All mailed-in payments must have a valid U.S. Postmark On or Before January 31st for Full Payments and first Half Payments, and On or Before the last day of each month from February to July for the second half, including the proper percentage of service charges .

8. All checks are to be made payable to "the Receiver of Taxes" for the EXACT AMOUNT that appears on the bill, plus interest or penalty, if applicable.

9. Receipts will be mailed to the Homeowner for mailed-in payments. Walk-in payment receipts will be issued at the time of payment to the person delivering payment.

Brewster Central School District and North Salem School Districts Collections

1. Bills are sent out approximately the first week of September every year. The bill covers July 1st through June 30th of the following year, which is the same as the school year.

2. The Full Amount is due and payable without penalty by September 30th. Full Amount is also accepted through October 31st with a 2% penalty.

3. If you choose the half payment plan, the first half is due by September 15th, and the second half is due by march 15th of the following year. There is a 2% Service Charge built into the half payment amounts, which will be listed clearly on your bill.

4. Second half payment to be reviewed by the Commision of  Finance, County Office Building, Carmel NY 10512, not your local receiver.

5. If no payment is made in September or October, the full amount plus interest and penalties will be re-levied onto your Town & County Tax Bill the following January.

Valid U.S. Postmarks will be accepted for dates of payment or they may also be brought directly to Town Hall.

Other Fees

The Tax Receiver Office also receives water and sewer payment from all eight Town Water Districts, as well as all special fees for Zoning Board, Planning Board, Recreation, and Conservation Board.
