CURBSIDE BULK PICKUP

Curbside Bulk Pickup is for resident's household items only and must be at the curb by the night before the scheduled pickup

The following items are not included for curbside bulk pickup:

paint, chemicals, liquids, stumps, tree, masonry, lumber, logs, brick, used oil, batteries, stone, tires, propane tanks.

Construction, renovation or remodeling debris including kitchens, baths, decks and windows.

Rugs must be cut, rolled and tied so that no roll is longer than 4ft.

RESIDENTS ARE ENTITLED TO ONE BULK PICKUP IN 2000. EACH PICKUP IS LIMITED TO THREE (3) CUBIC YARDS. THIS IS AN AREA APPROXIMATELY 9' X 3' X 3'. ANY BULK PICKUPS IN EXCESS OF THIS AMOUNT WILL NOT BE PICKED UP AND WILL BE LEFT AT YOUR CURB. RESIDENTS EXCEEDING THE THREE (3) CUBIC YARD LIMIT WILL HAVE TO EITHER REDUCE THE SIZE OR CONTRACT WITH AWS TO HAVE THE EXCESS ABOVE THE THREE CUBIC YARDS REMOVED AT AWS'S RATES. RESIDENTS ARE ALSO WELCOME TO HIRE OTHER CARTERS TO REMOVE ITEMS IN EXCESS OF THE THREE CUBIC YARDS.

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners or any other appliances containing Freon must be decharged and tagged by a State authorized specialist (consult the yellow pages for a professional under Refrigerator and Freezers - Dealers and Service). The Carter will not pickup such items without such certification. Homeowners discarding refrigerators exceeding 48" in height must pay an additional pickup fee of $25 to the Carter and such appliance will be excluded from the three cubic yard limit. The resident before disposal must remove doors on any appliance that presents a hazard for children. Tires can be disposed of through local auto repair shops at a nominal charge.

CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP
Christmas trees (excluding artificial) will be picked up at the curb on the following Wednesdays during January 1/7/04 and 1/14/04.

SPECIAL SERVICES
Top of driveway collection can be contracted for directly from AWS by calling 1-800- 921-5568. Any additional charge for such services will be the responsibility of the homeowner.

NOTE: PUTNAM COUNTY HAZARDOUS WASTE CLEAN-UP DAY WILL BE HELD BY THE PUTNAM COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT ON A SATURDAY IN APRIL AND AGAIN IN OCTOBER (DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED). YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER BY CALLING 278-6130, EXTENSION 2150.
